More about Chris DeRose
The following is a more in-depth biography about Chris, taken from the recent 2011 Animal Liberation Forum in Long Beach, California:
Chris DeRose is the founder of the national animal rights group Last Chance for Animals (LCA). He has been an animal rights activist for 33 years. Chris is a former New Jersey cop and a working actor. He put the very first people in state and federal prison for animal cruelty. This was the first time anyone had ever gone to prison in the U.S. on an animal cruelty charge. Chris also was the spokesperson for the A.L.F. from 1980-1985 and was suspected for many years of being the head of the A.L.F. west coast cell. He has busted some of the biggest animal cruelty cases in the history of the U.S. In addition, Chris has spent time in jail for civil disobedience on behalf of the animals. He has vowed to fight for the liberation of all animals until his last breath. Chris has also been featured in “Behind the Mask” and “Bold Native”!
